Job Summary

The Process Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall efficiency, quality, and productivity of existing processes at Vuteq Canada Inc. This position is responsible for improving processes using APQP and Vuteq VPD standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support new project launches by creating and implementing new processes.
  • Analyze part drawings from customers to design rough processes that meet their requirements.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers to determine part specifications and establish equipment requirements.
  • Create RFQs, send out for quotes, and conduct cost analyses.
  • Set up equipment, test functionality, and ensure it meets customer requirements.
  • Integrate new equipment into the current plant layout, create cell layouts, and plant layouts as needed.
  • Support FMEA creation, development, control plans, and standardized work charts.
  • Determine manpower requirements once processes are established.
  • Lead trial builds from initial stages to high-volume production trials.
  • Oversee time trial activities to enhance production efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure all processes are in working order, meet safety and quality standards, reduce scrap and safety incidents, and minimize downtime.
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes and implement improvements.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a 2-4 year Engineering degree or Engineering technician diploma from a College or University.
  • 2-4 years of high-volume automotive manufacturing and production experience.
  • 2-4 years of Lean Manufacturing Principles experience.
  • Experience using 3D and 2D CAD software.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands of production from customers and team members.
  • Actively listen to concerns or issues that arise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with large groups.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem-solving.
  • Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks.
  • Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once.
  • English, written and spoken.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese, Spanish, and/or Portuguese would be considered an asset.
