Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

At The Royal Mental Health Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with serious mental illness and intellectual disability living in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional nursing services to clients, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, families, and community partners to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Conduct regular home visits to clients, requiring extensive driving in the catchment area.
  • Provide assessment and crisis intervention services, as well as education and support to clients and their families.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of educational programs for clients, families, and service providers.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients, adhering to The Royal's Anti-Racism, Discrimination, and Harassment-Free Workplace policy.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
  • Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working with persons with Dual Diagnosis (Intellectual Disability and Psychiatric Illness) required.
  • Community Mental Health experience preferred.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and prioritization skills to nursing duties required.
Salary Range:

$35.36 to $37.05 per hour
