We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established procedures, including receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, and preparing examination trays and patients for specific procedures.
- Operate computerized imaging equipment, including processing and archiving of acquired data, and monitor patient during procedures and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely completion of examinations, and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, including scheduling and performing equipment tests, and identifying and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
- Develop and maintain statistical data related to department activity levels, attendance, leaves of absence, and performance appraisals, and make recommendations to the Director on how services may be improved.
- Certification with CAMRT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and completion of Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice.
- One (1) year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
