JOB TITLE: Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance

REPORTS TO: Finance Manager – Corporate Finance

DEPARTMENT: Finance

LOCATION: Toronto, ON

Positioned at our Toronto Head Office, this role is pivotal in delivering financial insights and sales reporting within the corporate finance sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Month-End Duties: Execute and present balance sheet, working capital, SG&A, and legal forecasts. Collaborate with business leaders to comprehend and evaluate BU forecasts.
  • Monthly SG&A Analysis & Reporting: Cultivate relationships with administrative business leaders and maintain clear communication regarding variances, risks, and opportunities in forecasts.
  • KPI Reporting for SG&A.
  • Act as a bridge between Canadian Corporate Finance and US Corporate Finance.
  • Engage actively in the budgeting process: Collaborate with business leaders throughout the upload and submission phases, work on budget templates, and ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of assumptions.
  • P&L Analysis & Reporting: Scrutinize key components of P&L, perform variance analysis, and provide commentary.
  • Process Enhancement Initiatives: For instance, balance sheet forecasting.
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting as necessary.
Candidate Profile
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Exhibits a strong personal capacity for learning.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance or a related field.
  • CPA certification (or nearing completion).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including advanced functions and formulas).
  • Familiarity with Adaptive, SAP, Power BI, and Oracle is advantageous.
  • Minimal travel is anticipated.
