Position Overview:

Join Humber River Health as an Oncology Administrative Coordinator. This position is ideal for individuals holding a Bachelor's Degree and looking to contribute to a leading healthcare institution.

About Us:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive clerical support, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with registration standards.
  • Process communications and tasks from physicians and inter-professional team members utilizing the Meditech Oncology module.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by managing appointment schedules, addressing patient inquiries, and welcoming patients and visitors.
  • Facilitate the flow of registration information between internal and external departments to ensure seamless appointment coordination.
  • Assist care team members with data collection processes mandated by Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma is advantageous.
  • Medical terminology course completion is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of recent clerical experience, ideally in an oncology outpatient setting.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with Meditech's Oncology Module and Community Wide Scheduling is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Knowledge of a second language is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated customer service expertise.
  • Consistent attendance and a discipline-free record are essential.
  • Applicants may be required to complete administrative testing, including typing speed and MS Office proficiency.
