Position Overview
Reporting to the Social Services Administrator, the Health and Housing Community Planning Manager will lead the development and execution of the Health and Housing Community Plan. This role involves collaboration with the Health and Housing Community Planning Table, along with guidance from advisory groups representing individuals with lived experiences and Indigenous communities. The Manager will facilitate community engagement, consultation, and evaluation strategies that emphasize the integration of health and housing services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Health and Housing Community Planning Table and advisory groups to support the planning, execution, and assessment of a comprehensive health and housing community strategy.
  • Oversee the formulation and completion of the Health and Housing Community Plan, ensuring effective community engagement and consultation processes.
  • Conduct planning and implementation analysis, developing strategies for the integration of health and housing services.
  • Facilitate public input in various phases of the plan's development and evaluation.
  • Organize and lead events such as stakeholder meetings, public forums, and surveys.
  • Ensure alignment of the Health and Housing Community Planning Table's work with existing community initiatives and identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Develop and recommend operational procedures based on research and service system analysis.
  • Attend and support all relevant meetings to ensure effective communication regarding the development and objectives of the Health and Housing Community Plan.
  • Monitor local statistics and community resources to inform planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and housing plans through regular reviews of programs and systems.

Qualifications

  • A four-year university degree in community planning or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in community planning, with a focus on health and social services preferred.
  • Understanding of the structures and mandates within provincial social services and health care systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and initiatives at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Commitment to person-centered care and service delivery.
  • Experience collaborating with community agencies and programs.
  • Familiarity with health system data and population health outcomes.
  • Understanding of the relationship between health, housing, and social determinants of health.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to manage priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders respectfully.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comprehend complex documents.
