Position Overview
Reporting to the Social Services Administrator, the Health and Housing Community Planning Manager will spearhead the development and execution of the Health and Housing Community Plan. This role involves collaboration with the Wellington-Guelph Health and Housing Community Planning Table (WGHHCPT), guided by the insights of the People with Lived Experience Advisory Group and Indigenous Advisory Groups. The Manager will facilitate community engagement, consultation, planning methodologies, and evaluation strategies that focus on the integration of health and housing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the WGHHCPT, advisory groups, and various working groups to support the planning, execution, and assessment of a comprehensive health and housing community plan.
- Oversee the formulation and completion of the Health and Housing Community Plan, ensuring effective community engagement and consultation processes.
- Conduct planning and implementation analysis, developing strategies for the integration of health and housing services.
- Facilitate public input opportunities regarding the plan's development and evaluation.
- Organize and lead events such as stakeholder meetings, public forums, and surveys.
- Align the efforts of the WGHHCPT with existing community planning initiatives, identifying overlaps and gaps within the health and housing system.
- Develop and propose procedures and best practices based on research and service system analysis.
- Attend and support all relevant meetings to ensure effective communication and decision-making regarding the Health and Housing Community Plan.
- Monitor local statistics and community resources, ensuring compliance with health and housing plans.
Qualifications
- A four-year university degree in community planning or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in community planning development, particularly in health and social services.
- In-depth knowledge of provincial social services, health care, and mental health systems.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and initiatives at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
- Commitment to person-centered care and health outcomes.
- Experience collaborating with community agencies and programs.
- Proficiency in utilizing health system data to identify issues and evaluate strategies.
- Understanding of the relationship between health, housing, and social determinants of health.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully with diverse contacts.
