Key Responsibilities:- Analyze credit submissions, financial disclosures, and pertinent documentation to ensure risk tolerances are met.
- Apply advanced credit judgement, utilizing the five C's of credit, and ensure consistent application of policies and processes.
- Adjudicate within established limits and exception authority, presenting quality recommendations on requests above established limits.
- Calculate financial ratios, identify appropriate credit conditions, and understand business and economic trends.
- Analyze credit reviews and apply corrective action where necessary.
- Ensure all partner interactions are professional, respectful, and value-added.
- Provide recommendations and alternative solutions, restructuring credit requests as required.
- Act with a sense of urgency in response to partner requests to meet customer expectations.
- Deliver against established ACE Service Level Agreement targets.
- Contribute to the growth and quality of the Small Business Credit portfolio.
- Clearly identify risks and exceptions using strong rationale and associated mitigants to support the decision.
- Operate within the Bank's risk appetite and culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Maintain acceptable application review ratings from internal quality assurance and audit.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Scotiabank's Small Business products and services.
- Expert understanding of the Bank's lending policies and procedures, financial analysis, risk assessment techniques, credit structuring, collateral, and security documentation.
- Intermediate accounting and financial statement analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
- Strong team player with harmonious relationships with Unit team members and stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to produce informative, concise, and professional credit replies, presentations, and correspondence.
- Pursuant to a language needs assessment, the successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively and efficiently in a high-volume work environment.
