Position Overview

The transportation division at IBI Group in Ottawa is seeking a driven individual with a keen interest in transportation engineering, particularly in relation to urban development. The primary focus of this role involves assisting in the preparation of Transportation Impact Assessments and Parking Studies to support development proposals in eastern Ontario. Additionally, there will be opportunities to engage in transportation facility design projects, including roadways, intersections, and transit systems.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist senior engineering professionals with the following tasks:


• Conducting Traffic Analysis


• Performing Data Analysis


• Engaging in Technical Research


• Preparing Technical Reports and Exhibits


• Supporting Proposal Development

Required Qualifications

Educational Background & Skills:


• Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a Civil Engineering program with a specialization in transportation engineering


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


• Familiarity with software such as Synchro, Adobe Illustrator, and Visual Basic for Applications is advantageous


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, particularly in advanced functionalities (macros, logic)


• Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation is beneficial


• Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is a plus
