Your Role at EXP

As a Land Development Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our dynamic team in Calgary, contributing to the design and execution of complex land development projects. These projects encompass a wide range of scales and types, including residential, industrial, and commercial developments.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design process for road and utility infrastructure, providing expert input and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate internal design and field staff, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient workflow.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, including reports and drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and development.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, effectively communicating progress updates to the Project Manager.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, municipal authorities, and contractors, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Secure necessary approvals and permits from relevant agencies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by participating in proposal writing and client engagement activities.

Your Background

  • 3-5 years of experience in the land development industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of design principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with extensive experience utilizing its features for road and utility design.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Exposure to project management principles is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
