Job Description

**Job Title:** Construction Superintendent

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the entire construction process on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and monitoring project momentum, scheduling, quality control, safety, and delegating work to the project team and sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Project Management:** Advise project team of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, while assisting in resolving conflicts.
  • **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain solid documentation, complete daily site reports, POs, project photos, and manage all required municipal and provincial inspections.
  • **Budgeting and Cost Control:** Review the budget and the underlying estimate to understand the project, and plan ahead to avoid costly issues and project delays.
  • **Expenditure Management:** Effectively monitor expenditures, review invoices in detail, and manage labour and material costs.
  • **Scheduling and Planning:** Prepare and maintain construction schedules, and identify and solve potential scheduling problems, and advise Project Manager of any deviations or potential deviations from the overall schedule or critical path.
  • **Safety and Health:** Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site, monitor safety performance, and oversee the Site HSE Coordinator.
  • **Team Management:** Supervise and develop site team members through regular feedback, training, coaching, and lead project meetings with internal and external parties.
  • **Quality Control:** Review documents, drawings for accuracy and constructability, review and enforce sub-contractor contracts, and identify discrepancies in scopes of work.
Requirements:
  • **Experience:** 10+ years of construction supervision experience.
  • **Background:** Trade background with progressive experience in General Contracting.
  • **Skills:** Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
  • **Project Management:** Experience managing projects of $100M+.
