Job Summary:
Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care by maintaining and processing medical devices and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontamination and Sterilization: Receive, sort, disassemble, clean, decontaminate, sterilize, assemble, wrap, and reassemble all trays, medical devices, carts, supplies, and equipment related to the operating room and other areas of the region.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on medical devices, equipment, and supplies. Identify damaged or malfunctioning medical devices, equipment, and supplies, and report, record, initiate, and follow up on repairs as required.
- Supply Chain Management: Load and operate sterilizing equipment, monitor sterilizing equipment operation, and perform standard quality assurance tests on the effectiveness of the sterilizing process in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
- Inventory Management: Store and rotate sterilized items, monitor and maintain established levels of sterile and non-sterile supplies used throughout the healthcare setting, and perform duties such as performing inventory counts, requisitioning supplies and equipment, reporting and recording shortages, problems, and complaints related to medical devices, supplies, and equipment.
- Supply Distribution: Receive, fill, and deliver urgent and routine requests for medical devices, supplies, and equipment for the operating room and other patient care areas as assigned per site.
- Procedure Preparation: Print pick lists using a computerized system, pick and distribute medical device sets, equipment, and supplies for medical and/or surgical procedures for various patient care areas as assigned per site.
- Cart Replenishment: Replenish procedure and specialty supply carts for various patient care areas on a regularly scheduled basis in accordance with established policies and procedures as assigned per site.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform routine cleaning/sanitation of workstations/areas, storage areas, processing machines, and equipment.
- Clerical Duties: Perform related clerical duties such as maintaining records, answering telephones, and information retrieval from the computer as assigned per site.
- Training and Development: Assist with orientation and training of new staff and students.
- Quality Assurance: Perform and record environmental safety monitoring activities.
- Equipment Evaluation: Participate in evaluation and trial of medical devices, equipment, and supplies.
