This position serves as an HR generalist that balances both operational and strategic responsibilities, aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction and growth. These roles are situated in expansive warehouse environments and/or densely populated regions. They are highly interactive and service-oriented, necessitating the onsite HR generalist to collaborate closely with operational teams to assist our workforce. This onsite HR partner is knowledgeable in various aspects, from employee relations to performance management, talent development to succession planning, and employee engagement to compliance with regulations. They act as business partners to the warehouse management teams throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $75,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners to execute and implement HR strategies focused on employee engagement and retention. Aids HRBP in equipping managers with the necessary tools and training to enhance their effectiveness.
- Provides HR support to location leadership on daily matters and larger projects, including training, coaching, and development initiatives.
- Acts as a liaison between HRES/Employee Relations and location management, offering recommendations and guidance on HR issues, including submitting requests into MyRyder as needed.
- Supports managers in all aspects related to hiring, termination, and other employee data changes, including data entry into Workday/MyRyder. Ensures effective onboarding and training for all new hires.
- Conducts proactive employee relations through various methods such as pulse surveys and one-on-one meetings. Leads employee relations efforts, including coaching and support during investigations. Works with Business Agents to address grievances and other local issues as applicable.
- Utilizes analytics, expertise, and workforce trends to influence decisions that enhance and refine organizational processes and programs.
- Communicates, interprets, and consistently applies policies and procedures. Ensures adherence to all Human Resource processes.
- Collaborates with the operations team to identify, create, and implement innovative strategies to boost employee retention.
- Partners with the recruiting team to ensure timely recruitment of top talent. Works with recruiting and operations to develop a Staffing Plan based on growth, workforce planning, and analytics.
- Coordinates development initiatives such as FLP and LMT.
- Works with HRES/Compliance to ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Promotes the adoption of HR technology at the location (Workday/MyRyder).
- Collaborates with agency partners as necessary.
- Organizes hiring events and engages with local educational institutions when needed.
- Supports a diverse and inclusive workplace environment.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in responding to written correspondence through a computer system.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing conditions and assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, and HR teams.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain impartial during investigations.
- Professional demeanor with a pleasant telephone manner.
- Effective active listening skills with the ability to probe for appropriate resolutions.
- Strong communication, organizational, time management skills, and functional expertise (e.g., benefits, compensation).

- Ability to train and upskill on technology and functional aspects of case management systems.
- Excellent collaboration and team-building abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in HR or a related field, or an equivalent of 4 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in employee relations or a similar HR function is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in HR generalist roles or similar functions is required.
