Job Title: Mammalian Molecular Biology Lecturer

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced lecturer to teach a course on Mammalian Molecular Biology at the University of Toronto.

Course Description:

This course will extend molecular biology concepts to current scientific literature in mammalian physiology. Students will apply these principles to disease and complex behaviors, discuss bioethical issues raised by these techniques, and benefit from three weeks of small group seminars led by research professors focusing on current advances in mammalian molecular biology.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and present a lecture on mass spectroscopy and proteomics on March 4 (10am-12noon) and run the corresponding practicum session on March 6 (3-5pm).
  2. Prepare unique exam questions for the mid-term test and make-up test questions, if required.
  3. Facilitate a small group topic activity (March 25 – April 3) that includes a lecture, marking student lay summaries/critiques, and assessing student presentations.
Requirements:

PhD in physiology or a related discipline and prior experience in molecular physiology and pathophysiology research. Prior experience in molecular physiology and pathophysiology teaching, as well as in facilitating active learning, is preferred.
