Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of our financial operations. Your expertise will play a critical role in shaping our financial future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Realty and TSW.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of monthly and quarterly results, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for Realty and TSW, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
  • Implement and maintain financial and operational policies, procedures, and controls across the group, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate present or future risks in Realty and TSW's business, providing recommendations for risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with regional offices to ensure timely and consistent financial information transmission.
  • Work closely with other regional controllers to share best practices and ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Perform post-transaction work for acquired businesses, ensuring smooth operational and financial integration.
  • Support the finance team and other related tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a business environment, preferably in a similar role or in an accounting firm, with experience in insurance services or financial services being an asset.
  • Hold a recognized accounting designation (CPA).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting, as well as the internal control environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate complex financial and business concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented approach, combined with a desire to ensure high standards and consistency.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity in proposed solutions.
  • Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
