Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and talented Reinsurance Accounting Specialist to join our innovative finance team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the enhancement of complex reinsurance accounting processes, streamline closing activities, and implement process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
As a member of the accounting and reporting team:
- Analyze intricate reinsurance instructions and provide key recommendations for complex journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of financial results.
- Conduct essential reconciliations to maintain the integrity of reinsurance balances and manage settlements with key reinsurers.
- Offer insights and recommendations to leadership regarding reinsurance outcomes.
- Implement and enhance key controls to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to align on month-end closing processes.
As a member of the project team:
- Facilitate improvements in financial systems and accounting processes, addressing challenges and business needs, proposing solutions, and ensuring operational readiness.
- Identify areas for enhancement and monitor progress on proposals.
- Ensure optimal use of reinsurance and reporting systems as primary data sources for analysis.
- Manage your project portfolio and provide timely updates to your manager for group alignment.
- Support the reinsurance accounting team with ad hoc and recurring requests.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent education and experience.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on IFRS standards.
- Experience in Insurance/Reinsurance accounting is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, adaptive environment.
- Strong discipline, autonomy, and professionalism.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Bilingualism is required for candidates in Quebec to facilitate communication with English-speaking colleagues.
