Role Summary:

We are seeking passionate and skilled Swim Instructors and Lifeguards to contribute to our vision of enhancing the lives of children, youth, and families through aquatic education. In this role, you will teach essential water safety skills to individuals of all abilities in an integrated environment. Additionally, you will oversee and lead our recreational aquatics programs.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Lifeguard, your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring swimming activities to ensure a safe environment
  • Performing emergency rescues and responding to patron inquiries
  • Preparing and cleaning the pool area before and after shifts
  • Attending all scheduled training sessions
  • Keeping accurate records of hours worked
  • Maintaining current certifications
  • Completing additional duties as assigned
  • Certification as a Swimming Instructor is required

As a Swimming Instructor, you will also be responsible for:

  • Conducting aquatic programs to established standards
  • Addressing questions from parents and participants in a timely manner
  • Committing to the entire session of lessons
  • Providing detailed lesson plans to your supervisor
  • Preparing and reviewing report cards for participants
  • Certification as a Lifeguard is required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching swimming lessons
  • Certified as a Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
  • Hold a Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certification
  • Certified as a National Lifeguard
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required

Compensation Details:

  • Swim Instructor rate: $24.29/hour plus 4% vacation pay
  • Lifeguard rate: $20.50/hour plus 4% vacation pay
