Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Planning Associate to join our ScotiaMcLeod team in Canada. As a key member of our Wealth Management team, you will play a critical role in providing financial planning support to our dedicated Wealth Advisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning Expertise: Provide financial planning support to Wealth Advisors, including preparing and delivering personal financial plans to clients.
  • Client Relationship Management: Proactively support the financial planning needs of advisors by inputting client data, building financial plans, and identifying referral opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal specialists, including Taxation, Insurance, Estate & Trust, and Philanthropy, to provide integrated and organized planning solutions.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development, including monthly Total Wealth Planning calls, to stay up-to-date on financial planning trends and best practices.
  • Client Support: Provide general support to Wealth Advisors and team members by sharing knowledge and expertise on financial planning trends and strategic recommendations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all financial plans are accurate and adhere to Financial Planning Defaults & Standards, and maintain awareness of the latest legislative and financial industry changes.
Requirements
  • Designation, Licensing: CFP or IQFP (QC only)
  • Education: College or University degree
  • Experience: Experience in Total Wealth Planning engagement, client-facing role, and financial planning software
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
