Senior Financial Planning Associate

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Planning Associate to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our ScotiaMcLeod team, you will play a critical role in providing financial planning support to our dedicated Wealth Advisors.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the overall success of ScotiaMcLeod by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of our business strategies and objectives.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Provide financial planning support to Wealth Advisors, including preparing and delivering personal financial plans to clients.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Proactively support the financial planning needs of advisors by inputting client data, building financial plans, and identifying referral opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal specialists to ensure an integrated and organized approach to planning.
- Contribute to the ongoing professional practice by participating in monthly Total Wealth Planning calls.
- Provide general support to Wealth Advisors by sharing financial planning trends and strategic recommendations.
- Maintain awareness of the latest legislative and financial industry changes that may affect financial planning techniques.
- Understand how Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Designation, Licensing: CFP or IQFP (QC only)
- In-depth understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process
- College or University degree
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel
- Advanced understanding of financial planning software
- Experience in Total Wealth Planning engagement and client-facing roles
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a results-focused mindset
