Preconstruction Development Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Preconstruction Student to join our team at PCL Construction. As a Preconstruction Student, you will play a critical role in supporting our project teams by coordinating and managing project design and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Assist with coordinating and managing project design and procurement processes, including taking detailed meeting minutes and following up on open items.
- RFP Review: Assist with reviewing RFP documentation, drawings/diagrams, and specifications for key project requirements.
- Communication: Facilitate communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders by utilizing project management software to send RFIs and submittals.
- Material Management: Assist projects with material take-offs, quantity optimization, and pricing compilation and recaps.
- Process Improvement: Streamline project processes by developing procurement operating practices and converting Excel tools into standard templates.
- Dashboard Management: Support project success by developing and maintaining project management software dashboards for projects.
- Purchase Orders: Draft purchase orders and coordinate with estimators and schedulers to ensure compliance with project budgets and expected delivery dates.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and develop strong customer-focused relationships.
- Desire to Work in Solar Preconstruction: Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a solar preconstruction function.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: Superior attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in various computer software programs, including AutoCAD, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Excel).
- Software Familiarity: Familiarity with project management software and Power BI is a plus.
