About the Role

This is a key accounting position at a regional level, working with the Finance and Accounting team to support the Operations, Receivables, and Payables teams. The role will provide an in-depth understanding of property accounting by immersing you in the day-to-day accounting for both multifamily and commercial real estate.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the timely and accurate production of property financial reports, variance analysis, NOI analysis, and account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare and review day-to-day transactions and journal entries as part of a full accounting cycle.
  • Prepare and maintain various schedules including property taxes and utilities.
  • Produce high-quality financial analysis in a timely manner to ensure that the Operations and Management team have the key insights to drive business and operational decisions.
  • Interface and regularly communicate with various teams throughout the organization to better understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver accordingly.
  • Assist in the production of a timely and supported annual budget.
  • Perform other duties within the nature and spirit of the job, as required.
Requirements
  • CPA designation (or legacy equivalents) or pursuing a CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 2 years business experience within real estate accounting.
  • Knowledge of Yardi systems is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent organization and attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and activities efficiently.
