Position Overview
We are currently in search of a Finance Intern to support North American Energy Partners, Inc.'s finance division for an eight-month engagement.

Role Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various roles within the finance department, acquiring valuable experience in month-end and year-end closing processes, open purchase order assessments, cost accruals, account reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and performance analysis.

Financial Reporting
The financial statements of North American Energy Partners, Inc. are publicly available, prepared in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), and are listed on major stock exchanges.

Location
This position is based at our Head Office.

Key Duties
- Execute assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting period closing tasks in alignment with the company's Financial Statement Close and Reporting Policy, US GAAP, and relevant procedures.
- Prepare audit documentation and liaise with finance team members and auditors during year-end audits and quarterly reviews.
- Collaborate with Corporate and Divisional Finance teams to reconcile and analyze the consolidated balance sheet of the organization.
- Deliver comprehensive, precise, timely, and effective analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll to address project-related issues as they arise.
- Assist in the preparation and routine analysis and reporting of transactions for the Finance department management.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance major preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in an accounting-related office setting is advantageous.
