Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Co-Op to join our team at CP. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial planning and analysis support to our business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts, including revenue, expense, and capital projections.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions.
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and ad-hoc analysis.
- Support financial planning projects, including process improvement and information technology enhancements.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform financial analysis on monthly and quarterly data.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or Economics program with an accredited institution.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage expectations and prioritize work-based requirements.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform critical self-reviews.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to use best practices to achieve departmental goals.
