Job Title: Assistant Deli Manager

At Metro, we're committed to providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. As an Assistant Deli Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our deli department meets the highest standards of quality, service, and presentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Deli Manager in supervising, directing, and motivating deli staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Receive, price, stock, rotate, and merchandise products to ensure maximum visibility and appeal.
  • Order a full range of products and assist in taking inventory to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to our Customer Service Policy, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures, as well as government regulations concerning health and safety, sanitation, security, and more.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli Manager to support the smooth operation of the deli department.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' deli/supervisory experience, including excellent product knowledge and rotation, merchandising, ordering, and inventory control experience.
  • Superior customer service, supervisory, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours, bending, twisting, turning, and reaching, and lifting up to 65 lbs.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week.
