Job Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support our programs and services. This is a full-time position based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and train volunteers to support our programs and services
  • Manage volunteer schedules and coordinate volunteer activities
  • Develop and maintain volunteer promotional materials and job descriptions
  • Plan and host volunteer appreciation events
  • Assist in the development of volunteer-related policy and procedures
  • Respond to complaints and assist with performance management, discipline, and resolving conflicts involving volunteers
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong service ethic and a friendly disposition with the public. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of related experience and a completed high school diploma. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role.

Preferred Skills and Capabilities:

Preference will be given to candidates with a current valid BC driver's license and a clean driving record. Knowledge and interest in the programs and services of The Salvation Army is an asset.
