Overview
Canadian Plains Energy Services is seeking skilled Estimators to play a vital role in shaping cost strategies and execution plans. The Estimator's duties encompass material and quantity assessments, bid preparation, and support for contract obligations, alongside the formulation of tender submissions and pre-construction conceptual estimates for oil and gas facilities and above-ground pipelines.
POSITION LOCATION:
Candidates must be local to the Lloydminster area.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and pre-construction conceptual estimates for oil and gas facilities and pipelines, ensuring thorough project schedules are available for project manager review.
- Gather, evaluate, and compile quotations from subcontractors, while keeping the subcontractor information up to date.
- Develop initial cost summaries for projects.
- Offer technical support during contract negotiations.
Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant diploma or bachelor's degree (such as business administration or a trade certificate) is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the oil and gas construction sector with practical exposure.
- At least five years of direct experience in estimation.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical and structural requirements necessary for estimating construction costs of oil and gas facilities and pipelines.
- Experience in generating cost estimates and plans for both small and large plant facilities.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel and MS Project.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in facilitating and participating in group discussions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to record-keeping.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possesses a keen eye for detail.
- Proactively identifies and completes tasks that contribute to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
