Halifax Water is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Manager, Infrastructure Engineering. This is a full-time opportunity within the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure department.
As the Manager of Infrastructure Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing a team of professional and technical personnel dedicated to the design and execution of water, wastewater, and stormwater capital initiatives.
- Maintaining an expert understanding of Halifax Water's infrastructure, with a primary focus on delivering capital projects aligned with the long-term objectives outlined in the Integrated Resource Plan.
- Ensuring your team possesses the necessary mix of experience and skills to manage a diverse range of capital projects, from linear developments to significant structures and vertical assets.
- Actively participating in high-risk projects, identifying potential issues, and providing recommendations for mitigation to the Senior Manager of Capital Project Delivery.
- Building and nurturing relationships with consulting engineers and construction teams, serving as the primary support for project engineering staff in resolving design and construction challenges.
Qualifications for this role include:
- A post-secondary degree in Engineering (civil, municipal, environmental, or equivalent) along with a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation.
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible engineering experience, particularly in municipal engineering, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and direct supervisory roles.
- Eligibility for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- Willingness to undertake and maintain the following safety training:
- First Aid
- Globally Harmonized System (GHS) (formerly WHMIS)
