The Government of Nova Scotia's Department of Justice is a dynamic organization that plays a critical role in maintaining justice and public safety in the province. Our department occupies 24 court buildings, 5 correctional facilities, and various other facilities that require ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and replacements.

About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager - Capital Construction to lead our Facilities Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading building solutions for the Department that accommodate the delivery of Court, Sheriff, Legal, and Correctional services, as well as the services of the Medical Examiners office.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Strategic planning and procurement of project funding via the Tangible Capital Asset (TCA) business case process
  • Gathering information from Justice stakeholders to define project scope, space programming, and preparing schematic designs
  • Supervision of a facilities coordinator and working closely with the real property, design, operations, and project management teams at the Department of Public Works
Qualifications and Experience

You must have a university degree in architecture or engineering and be a registered member of your provincial licensing association. A minimum of seven years' experience in building design, construction documentation, and contract administration is required. You must also have expertise in gaining confidence and cooperation of Departmental stakeholders, design, operations, and project management divisions at DPW, and external professionals.

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,000 - $94,000 bi-weekly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a Defined Benefit Pension Plan, Health, Dental, Life Insurance, and Employee and Family Assistance Programs.
