Position Overview

An Industrial Electrician plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems to meet the operational demands of Magna.

Primary Duties

  • Receive and prioritize work instructions based on operational needs;
  • Engage in the design, fabrication, installation, programming, and testing of new and modified electrical equipment;
  • Collaborate with various departments to troubleshoot equipment and facility issues;
  • Perform repairs efficiently and within designated timeframes;
  • Assess job requirements concerning tools and materials needed;
  • Estimate the duration for each task;
  • Acquire necessary tools and equipment for job execution;
  • Interpret and modify electrical wiring diagrams as necessary;
  • Troubleshoot issues related to electrical controls;
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as required;
  • Operate forklifts and high lifts when necessary;
  • Support other maintenance teams and personnel as needed;
  • Coordinate with departments such as production, engineering, and quality control;
  • Engage with external contractors and suppliers;
  • Complete daily time sheets accurately;

General Responsibilities

  • Identify and address all environmental compliance requirements;
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times;
  • Follow established Business Management and Environmental Management Systems;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Support the achievement of operational goals;
  • Maintain a focus on customer satisfaction, both internal and external;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management;

Qualifications

  • Certified Electrician with valid credentials;
  • Ability to read and interpret machine blueprints;
  • Familiarity with PLC programming;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Capability to work independently;
