Industrial Electrician role involves installing, servicing, and maintaining electrical apparatus to support production needs.
Job DescriptionThe Industrial Electrician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems within the company. This involves installing, servicing, and maintaining electrical apparatus, as well as troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Receive instructions and prioritize tasks to meet production needs
- Design, fabricate, install, program, and test new and modified equipment
- Collaborate with other departments to troubleshoot equipment and facility concerns
- Effect repairs in a timely and efficient manner
- Evaluate jobs to determine required tools and materials
- Estimate time required for each job and obtain necessary equipment and tools
- Read, interpret, and alter electrical wiring diagrams as needed
- Troubleshoot electrical control problems
- Perform preventative maintenance work as required by the company's program
- Operate fork lift and high lift as required
- Assist other maintenance departments and personnel as needed
- Liaise with production, toolroom, engineering, and quality control departments
- Liaise with outside contractors and suppliers through the purchasing department
- Complete daily time sheets
- Ensure all environmental requirements are identified and addressed
- Ensure all safety requirements are being carried out
- Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the company
- Support attainment of company operating system goals
- Carry out duties focusing on internal and external customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate
- Certified Electrician with the appropriate qualifications
- Ability to read, interpret, and amend detailed machine blueprints
- Working knowledge of PLC programming, primarily with Allen Bradley, Omron, and Texas Instruments controllers
- Attention to detail is key, as position involves work on equipment that is not easily replaced
- Ability to work independently with general direction
