Oncology Care Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at PHSA. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality cancer services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to Oncology patients, including patient assessment, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and delivering treatment as per prescribed protocols.
- Collaborate with patients, family, and multidisciplinary team members to develop treatment/care plans and modify them as needed.
- Administer medications, injections, blood products, and IV fluids as required by the care plan, and monitor patient reactions to treatment.
- Maintain patient records by collecting and documenting patient information, health care history, nursing assessment, telephone communications, symptom and side effect management, patient and family education, and care evaluations.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
- Assist patients in interpreting their care plans, refer them to other health care professionals and programs as needed, and maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
