Job Summary
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Wildfire Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our wildfire prevention and operations team, you will play a critical role in executing all aspects of our wildfire prevention program.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute critical elements within the education, engineering, and enforcement programs, each customized to the local landscape.
- Undertake ongoing program surveillance, decisive decision-making, comprehensive training, and expert mentoring to ensure consistent and effective outcomes.
- Participate in a range of wildfire suppression and pre-suppression activities tailored specifically to the landscape of the Forest Area.
- Active involvement in Incident Command Teams, task forces, working groups, and committees.
- Support forest management and enhance forest health.
Requirements
- Expertise in wildfire prevention and operations.
- Strong understanding of the local landscape and its unique characteristics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
