Role Responsibilities

As a Wildfire Technologist with the Government of Alberta, you will play a critical role in executing the wildfire prevention program. This involves executing critical elements within the education, engineering, and enforcement programs, each customized to the local landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute wildfire prevention programs, including education, engineering, and enforcement components.
  • Work under the guidance of the Wildfire Prevention Officer to ensure effective program execution.
  • Participate in Incident Command Teams, task forces, working groups, and committees to support wildfire suppression and pre-suppression activities.
  • Support forest management and enhance forest health through various initiatives.
Working Environment:

You will work in a dynamic and challenging environment, collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure community safety and conserve the unique natural resources within the Forest Area.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require expertise in wildfire prevention and operations, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
