About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at 3059308 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment
  • Conduct safety and security checks to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Work with minimal supervision to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Initiative, judgement, and reliability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
