About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at 3059308 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building's systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain industrial vacuum cleaners, polishing machines, power tools, and other equipment as required.
  • Task Completion: Complete a variety of tasks, including making adjustments and minor repairs, contacting contractors for repairs, performing safety and security checks, and moving heavy furniture and equipment.
  • Plant Care: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens as needed.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
