Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at 3059308 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Dartmouth. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment.
  • Conduct safety and security checks, and respond to any issues that may arise.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Work with minimal supervision to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Initiative, judgement, and reliability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and lifting.
Work Environment:

Our facilities are equipped with industrial vacuum cleaners, polishing machines, power tools, and other equipment necessary for the job. You will work in a physically demanding environment, with repetitive tasks and heavy lifting required.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Work Schedule:

This is a permanent position, with a work schedule of 30-40 hours per week.
