Position: Senior Import Coordinator

Department: Production

Reports To: Sourcing/Imports Director

Overview:

The Senior Import Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing the flow of goods through the supply chain, ensuring that critical production milestones are achieved for the timely delivery of samples and bulk orders. This position serves as the central communication link within the supply chain, necessitating prompt and effective communication, as well as the maintenance of essential tracking tools such as Time and Action Calendars and Import Trackers. Proactive identification and resolution of potential issues with management are key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistent communication with all supply chain partners.
  • Monitor and follow up on lab dips, prototype samples, fabrics, accessories, pre-production samples, production samples, and lab test results to ensure timely processing.
  • Develop and update Action Calendars and Import Trackers.
  • Manage Purchase Orders in Momentis, ensuring the system reflects the most current revisions.
  • Compile and update Cost Sheet Spreadsheets.
  • Inform Traffic regarding booking approvals or rejections.
  • Review vendor manuals to guarantee compliance with customer shipment requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years in a similar role within the apparel import sector.
  • Familiarity with import regulations relevant to North American markets.

Skills:

  • Highly organized, proactive, and dedicated.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to communicate effectively with factories, mills, agents, quality assurance, design teams, logistics, accounting, sales, and other departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Momentis.
  • Capable of anticipating challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Knowledgeable about garment and fabric construction, terminology, quality assurance processes, production cycles, and laboratory testing requirements.

Education:

  • College degree; a Bachelor of Commerce is preferred.
