Position: Director of Execution, National Accounts

Overview: Join a results-oriented team dedicated to fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture.

Objective: This role is pivotal in enhancing the profitability and quality of the Bank's Commercial Credit portfolio by executing financial solutions for clients. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, structuring deals, pricing, negotiating, and presenting complex transactions within the National Accounts segment, ensuring alignment with business strategies and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a customer-centric culture within the team to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader banking resources.
  • Drive the profitable growth of the Commercial Credit business by:
    • Engaging in the comprehensive analysis, structuring, and preparation of credit proposals for a dedicated portfolio, typically exceeding $25MM.
    • Delivering timely and sound recommendations regarding structuring, pricing, and due diligence for credit proposals.
    • Determining competitive pricing for loans and credit-related fees, ensuring alignment with risk and profitability.
    • Compiling and synthesizing information to propose viable banking solutions while adhering to sound lending practices.
    • Transforming marginal proposals into viable banking opportunities.
    • Evaluating client business cases for feasibility.
    • Engaging with clients and prospects as part of the team when necessary.
    • Identifying and suggesting cross-sell opportunities to team members and other banking divisions.
  • Ensure accurate communication of authorization terms and facilitate the effective closing of transactions by:
    • Drafting or reviewing credit authorizations for precision and clarity.
    • Following up promptly on authorization acceptance and addressing any issues that arise.
    • Reviewing security documentation to ensure completeness and quality.
    • Conducting thorough evaluations of information for closing conditions and reporting any deficiencies.
    • Coordinating with clients to ensure proper execution of documentation prior to fund disbursement.
  • Maintain the quality of the assigned credit portfolio by monitoring compliance with authorization conditions and reporting requirements:
    • Conducting detailed evaluations of received information and reporting any negative findings.
    • Identifying potential problem loans early and ensuring accurate risk ratings.
    • Advising management of any developing credit weaknesses through ongoing analysis of relevant information.
  • Oversee daily operations in alignment with the Bank's risk culture and appetite, ensuring team adherence to these principles.
  • Promote an environment that encourages efficient operations while maintaining effective business controls to meet obligations related to operational and regulatory risks.
  • Contribute to a high-performance environment by implementing strategies that attract, retain, and develop talent within the team.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director and Head of National Accounts.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Bank's lending policies and an understanding of economic and business trends affecting credit risk.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid grasp of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage complex loan documentation and security requirements.
  • Highly organized and analytical mindset.

Functional Expertise:

  • Proficient credit skills with substantial experience in credit assessment.
  • Strong financial analysis and accounting capabilities.
  • Ability to build compelling business cases for credit proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, particularly in Excel.

Education: Graduate or undergraduate degree in business or economics or equivalent experience.

Work Environment: Standard office environment with potential for non-standard hours and frequent domestic travel.
