About the Role
The 3rd Class Stationary Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for performing operational work in a central heating and cooling plant. Reporting to the 1st Class Stationary Engineer, this role requires a strong understanding of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heating and cooling plant equipment, including boilers, chillers, generators, and distribution systems.
- Conduct tests on mechanical equipment and water samples to ensure reliability and safety.
- Prepare work orders and documents, and compile operational data for monthly reports.
- Work with a variety of computer software programs to manage plant operations.
- Perform seasonal maintenance on plant equipment and use hand and power tools as needed.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience at the Class 3 level.
- Significant knowledge of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of testing methods and administrative practices.
- General knowledge of federal and provincial regulations related to environmental standards and occupational health and safety.
