Position Overview

The role of a Healthcare Support Worker is vital in providing compassionate care to individuals in need. This position involves assisting patients in various daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided.
Work Environment

This position is typically situated in a nursing home or a facility dedicated to elderly care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms.
  • Support patients in their exercise routines.
  • Respond to patient calls to assess their needs.
  • Provide first aid when necessary.
Certifications

A valid First Aid Certificate is required for this position.

Safety and Security
  • Must be bondable.
  • A criminal record check is mandatory.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and engage in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to lift weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility for shift work or on-call duties, with an expected work week of 32 to 40 hours.
