The Senior Investigator, Financial Crimes and Misconduct is tasked with conducting thorough investigations into external fraud and misconduct cases. This role requires strong credit analysis skills, familiarity with loan processes, and the ability to identify gaps and risks to enhance controls. Additionally, the individual must establish and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders across various Business Units and Corporate Functions. The primary focus will be on fraud prevention and detection as outlined below.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the intake, assessment, and resolution of fraud investigations. Conduct investigations into suspected fraudulent activities of varying complexities. Facilitate formal interviews with stakeholders and external entities. Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners during investigations. Proactively identify and escalate underlying causes and trends that require attention to mitigate fraud risks. Contribute to the review and enhancement of internal Policies, Directives, and Procedures related to fraud. Support the implementation of enterprise-wide prevention, detection, and risk management strategies to minimize fraud exposure. Design and deliver training sessions on fraud awareness. Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert for fraud prevention discussions and strategic client engagements involving suspected fraud. Prepare and present investigation briefs to senior management, outlining incidents, next steps, and necessary remediation actions. Maintain an understanding of Know Your Client (KYC) regulations. Stay informed about BDC's product offerings and loan authorization processes. Collaborate with fellow Financial Crimes and Misconduct investigators to assist in internal fraud and misconduct inquiries.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing/authorizing credit files, conducting lending fraud investigations, or similar relevant experience. CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant), or other related certifications are considered strong assets. Knowledge of investigation best practices, lending methodologies, and completion of relevant certification/courses is highly valued. A high level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment regarding confidential matters. Excellent relationship management skills and an adaptable communication style to cater to various stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret large data sets and derive meaningful insights. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Exceptional written and presentation abilities.
