Utilities Superintendent

The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC, is seeking applications for the role of Utilities Superintendent.

Position Overview
This full-time, exempt management role reports directly to the Director of Operational Services and is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operation and maintenance of the municipality's water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The Utilities Superintendent ensures that the Department's Water/Wastewater operators receive proper training and supervision to comply with regulatory standards. This position also serves as the Chief Operator for the Town's water distribution and wastewater collection systems, leading the Utilities Department effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess EOCP certifications in Water Distribution Level II or III, Wastewater Collection Level II, Water Treatment Level II, and Wastewater Treatment Level I. Alternatively, a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a diploma in Civil or related Engineering Technology will be considered an asset. Candidates should have 5-10 years of relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems, along with 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity related to these fields. Proficiency in computer systems such as GIS and SCADA software is advantageous. A valid Class 5 BC driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
