As a Lead Mechanical Engineering Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in some of our most esteemed projects.

The team at Heathrow is a cohesive group of engineers who collaborate effectively in a supportive and flexible hybrid working environment.

Our involvement in critical infrastructure projects at one of Europe’s busiest airports underscores the significance of our work.

Our team is bolstered by the expertise of our Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health teams located in other offices.

We expect you to not only represent WSP to our clients but also to spearhead an engineering delivery team that provides innovative and sustainable solutions.

As part of the broader WSP team, you will integrate our core philosophies of sustainability, net-zero carbon initiatives, digital design, modern construction methods, and smart systems into your engineering designs.

Our team consists of 10 engineers, part of a larger group of 35 engineers specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health disciplines.

While our core operations are based at Heathrow, we offer the flexibility to work from other locations or remotely, allowing for a balance that suits personal needs.

You will report directly to our Heathrow Director and will be responsible for both technical and project delivery aspects.

Your team will include graduate, senior, and principal engineers, along with dedicated BIM and Sustainability specialists who will support your projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate effectively within a team while taking a leadership role in guiding engineers towards successful project delivery.
  2. Utilize technical judgment and resourcefulness in feasibility studies, concept designs, detailed designs, and construction support phases.
  3. Act as a representative of WSP to clients, ensuring their engineering needs are met with high-quality solutions.
  4. Maintain a strong understanding of UK mechanical building services design, including relevant standards and regulations.
  5. Manage the technical, cost, and schedule elements of project delivery.
