Position Overview

Qualifications
  • Education: No formal education required.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a similar role.
Work Environment
  • Type: Hog and pig farming.
  • Location: Rural area with staff accommodation available.
Key Responsibilities
  • Handle and care for animals.
  • Mark livestock for ownership identification.
  • Monitor and assess animal health.
  • Perform essential piglet care tasks, including clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering medications, and identifying piglets.
  • Assist with weaning processes.
  • Feed and tend to animals daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness in stables, barns, and pens.
  • Identify and report any health issues in livestock.
  • Set up and monitor necessary environmental controls in barns and pens.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
