Job Title: Swine Herdsperson

Topigs Norsvin Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swine Herdsperson to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural operations, you will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of our swine herd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times to maintain a healthy and secure environment for our livestock.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of livestock performance, quality control, and production.
  • Select and prepare livestock for sale, ensuring that they meet our high standards for quality and health.
  • Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs to optimize our swine herd's performance and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed and any issues that may arise.
  • Perform general farm duties as required, including feeding, watering, and caring for our livestock.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in swine farming or a related field.
  • College or CEGEP education in a relevant field, such as animal science or agriculture.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a high level of physical demand.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
