Job Title: Swine Herdsperson

Topigs Norsvin Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swine Herdsperson to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural livestock service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our swine herd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed to maintain a healthy and secure work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of livestock performance, quality control, and production.
  • Select and prepare livestock for sale, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs to optimize herd performance.
  • Maintain work records and logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform general farm duties as required, including feeding and watering livestock.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education in a relevant field, such as agriculture or animal science.
  • 2-3 years of experience in swine production or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a physically demanding workload.
