Job SummaryThe Maintenance Planner will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities, including work order management, vendor management, and inventory control. This is a full-time position that reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires a strong understanding of industrial maintenance operations and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Manage work orders in our Manufacturing Execution System, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with maintenance teams.
- Control inventory and requisition new and spare parts as needed, optimizing our maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize preventative maintenance work orders, including condition-based and time-based component replacement.
- Review and develop corrective work orders based on preventative and predictive work order assessments.
- Identify and detail safety requirements for each job, including permits and special procedures.
- Participate in Health & Safety, Environmental Management Systems, 5S, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a plastics manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS) or software programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial maintenance operations and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven knowledge and experience with 5S methodology.
- Above-average planning, organizational, and scheduling skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices.

This role requires almost 100% of time spent in the plant environment, with varying degrees of moderate physical labor. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects, standing, and walking are common tasks. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels, and equipment use. Considerable sensory attention is required, and limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow can bring stresses to this position.
