Job Summary:

CSA Group is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the development of electrical safety standards. As a key member of our team, you will facilitate the creation of leading-edge standards solutions by enabling technical discussions and promoting consensus amongst key stakeholders. Your expertise in electrical safety and standards development will be instrumental in enhancing safety and sustainability for people and businesses.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage standards development activities, focusing on Canadian Electrical Code Part II and product standards related to consumer and commercial, industrial, and wiring products.
  • Oversee all aspects of the standards development process, including managing multiple Canadian, US, and/or international standards development projects.
  • Identify project timelines and budgets in accordance with CSA Directives and procedures.
  • Develop a portfolio roadmap for product standards, addressing market and stakeholder needs.
  • Build key stakeholder relationships with academia, regulators, industry, and other relevant parties.
  • Identify and pursue potential areas of new opportunities, such as new standards' requirements, training, and education programs.
  • Support the creation of technical standards outlines for new standards development projects.
Requirements:
  • Technical degree or Technologist (BSc, B.Eng or CET) in an appropriate technical field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience within the electrical products sector, with 3-5 years in Standards Development and/or Project Management.
  • Technical understanding and experience working with the Canadian Electrical Code Part I and II.
  • Knowledge of the standards' industry, government policy, industry landscape, and funding programs/models would be an asset.
  • Experience writing proposals and business plans.

  • Developed computer skills (word processing, presentation software, project planning software, spreadsheet, etc.).
  • Highly developed oral, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
