Job Summary

CSA Group is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the development of electrical safety standards. As a key member of our team, you will facilitate technical discussions, promote consensus among stakeholders, and interact with industry experts, manufacturers, and government officials.

Responsibilities
  • Manage standards development activities, focusing on Canadian Electrical Code Part II and product standards related to consumer and commercial, industrial, wiring, and wiring device products.
  • Oversee all aspects of the standards development process, including managing multiple Canadian, US, and/or international standards development projects.
  • Identify project timelines and budgets in accordance with CSA Directives and procedures.
  • Develop a portfolio roadmap for product standards, addressing market and stakeholder needs.
  • Build key stakeholder relationships with academia, regulators, industry, and other relevant parties.
  • Identify and pursue potential areas of new opportunities, such as new standards' requirements, training, and education programs.
  • Support the creation of technical standards outlines for new standards development projects.
Requirements
  • Technical degree or Technologist (BSc, B.Eng or CET) in an appropriate technical field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience within the electrical products sector, with 3-5 years of experience in Standards Development and/or Project Management.
  • Technical understanding and experience working with the Canadian Electrical Code Part I and II.
  • Knowledge of the standards' industry, government policy, industry landscape, and funding programs/models would be an asset.
  • Experience writing proposals and business plans.

  • Developed computer skills (word processing, presentation software, project planning software, spreadsheet, etc.).
  • Highly developed oral, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
Travel

Some travel will be required.

Applicants with proficiency in French will be given special consideration.
