DIVISION OVERVIEW:
The Beverage Division of Crown specializes in producing a diverse range of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, teas, and emerging energy drinks. Crown Beverage is at the forefront of the packaging sector, employing cutting-edge technologies that transform perceptions of beverage cans. Our aluminum cans, featuring a substantial printable surface area and a variety of sizes, shapes, and decoration options, serve as the ideal packaging format to establish a compelling brand presence.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary responsibility of the Deco Maintainer is to set up, adjust, and sustain automatic decorators, coaters, and associated back-end machinery. This role is crucial for ensuring production efficiency and quality standards on the designated equipment.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
The position involves working with spray machines, coaters, decorators, ovens, neckers, flangers, testers, elevators, conveyors, air/mechanical single filers, palletizers, hand and powered trucks, as well as various hand and power tools and gauges.
MATERIALS:
Responsibilities include handling plain and decorated cans, lubricants, lacquers, varnishes, coatings, inks, solvents, and janitorial supplies.
DUTIES:
- Review production schedules to identify the need for change-overs or scheduled maintenance. Assess if adjustments can be made to accommodate overhauls, repairs, or necessary equipment re-adjustments.
- Conduct machine inspections. Diagnose mechanical or operational issues and devise corrective measures. Implement necessary corrections and adjustments during operation to optimize production.
- Perform change-overs by configuring assigned equipment for variations in material, labeling, size, etc.
- Execute repairs or overhauls, excluding machining parts. Replace worn or damaged components and re-time machine actions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of equipment. Resolve jams and check materials such as lacquer, coatings, inks, and lubricants, replenishing or changing as necessary.
- Assess, test, and measure products from assigned equipment to ensure compliance with quality specifications, utilizing appropriate gauges and instruments to document relevant information. Inspect products for visual defects.
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, documenting findings and taking necessary actions. Complete required process and maintenance shift reports.
- Investigate spoilage causes and implement corrective actions. Analyze production discrepancies and document findings.
- Communicate issues and requirements to internal suppliers.
- Inform management of recurring equipment malfunctions and the corrective actions taken, as well as any non-conforming supplies or materials.
- Ensure the efficient flow of cans to and from the designated area.
- Provide relief support throughout the back-end area as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure proper use and placement of all safety equipment, devices, and guards at all times. Adhere to safe working procedures and regulations.

Job Requirements:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment and demonstrate strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
